
STS-93 -- Chandra X-ray Observatory
NOTE: Columbia's Helium Signature Test and hypergolic system pressurization are complete. Prelaunch propellant loading is in work today. The orbiter's payload bay has been cleaned and preparations are in work at the pad to support the Chandra payload arrival. Columbia's payload bay doors will be reopened on Wednesday.
The Chandra/IUS combination will be placed into the transportation canister on June 18. The payload will be moved to the launch pad on June 19 and installed inside Columbia's cargo bay on June 24.
STS-93 SCHEDULED OPERATIONAL MILESTONES (dates are target only):
STS-99 -- SHUTTLE RADAR TOPOGRAPHY MISSION (SRTM)NOTE: Installation of Endeavour's three main engines and modifications to the dome heat shields are complete. Modifications to the final section of line on freon coolant loop No. 2 continue. Interface verification testing on the right-hand orbiter maneuvering system pod is in work. Installation of onboard floodlights is in work as well.
STS-103 -- 3rd HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE SERVICING MISSION (HST-3)NOTE: Removal of Discovery's STS-96 return payload is under way. Checks of the forward reaction control system are ongoing. Later today, workers will begin hypergolic tank valve draining. Routine orbiter receiving inspections continue.
STS-101 -- 3rd INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION FLIGHT - SPACEHAB DOUBLE MODULE/ICCNOTE: UHF system checks are complete. Wireless video modifications continue. Mass spectrometer leak checks on the orbiter's fuel cell power plant continue.
