Processing Note |
|
Following yesterday's scrubbed launch attempt,
Shuttle engineers at KSC have completed operations to offload Space Shuttle
Atlantis' external tank. This week, tankers filled with liquid hydrogen and
liquid oxygen will deliver the commodities to KSC in order to replenish the
storage spheres at Launch Pad 39A. With crew module destow operations in work
and no SPACEHAB access required, managers expect minimal work on the vehicle.
Shuttle program managers continue to assess the
next available launch date for STS-101 and expect a decision before the end of
the week. While launch date discussions continue, KSC managers will prepare for
a launch opportunity as early as next week to protect that option should it
become available. The flight crew has returned to Houston, TX and remains in
quarantine while launch options are being reviewed.
