Shuttle Processing Note
This week, technicians completed transformer replacement efforts on the left hand orbiter maneuvering system pod and valve cycling tests concluded yesterday. Checks of the orbiter docking system's (ODS) pyrotechnics are complete and ODS functional tests are ongoing. Testing of the space-to-space orbiter radio system is in progress. Preparations are under way for engine installation, currently slated to begin Wednesday. Testing of the orbiter's external tank umbilical door and main propulsion system checks continue on schedule.

Shuttle Processing Note
Shuttle program managers decided today to move Shuttle Discovery's launch date to Oct. 5. The decision allows managers ample time to review the Shuttle's performance following the STS-106 mission. Shuttle processing efforts at KSC remain on schedule.

Checks of the forward reaction control system are in work, and orbiter maneuvering system pod functional tests are scheduled. Managers expect the PMA-3 Space Station component to arrive at the OPF next week for installation into the orbiter's payload bay.

Shuttle Processing Note
Workers removed the robot arm from the payload bay yesterday to undergo further preflight evaluation. The wireless video modification continues. Functional tests of Endeavour's intertial measurement units are in work and calibration work follows later this week.
