Shuttle managers today announced a target launch
date of no earlier than April 17 for Shuttle Atlantis. The new date accommodates
Shuttle processing and flight crew training requirements.
Following minor delays during rollover
preparations, orbiter Atlantis is now scheduled to rollover to the Vehicle
Assembly Building later today pending weather constraints. Once Atlantis is
mated to the external tank and solid rocket boosters in VAB high bay 3, main
engine No. 1 will be replaced. The work will be completed in the VAB over a
period of about 3 days. Space Shuttle Atlantis is currently slated for rollout
to Launch Pad 39A on March 24.
