Shuttle Processing Note
Orbiter Atlantis, the external tank and solid rocket boosters are all mechanically and electrically connected, and the Shuttle Interface Test concluded yesterday. Main engine No. 1 has been successfully replaced and leak checks are now under way. Workers will also replace a hydraulic pump on the right-hand booster hydraulic power unit today. This planned effort was initially slated to occur at the launch pad, but managers are taking advantage of an extended VAB stay. Space Shuttle Atlantis remains scheduled for rollout to Launch Pad 39A Saturday at about 7 a.m.

Following the successful rollout of Shuttle Atlantis, launch pad validations are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, and engine heat shield installation occurs Sunday. The SPACEHAB payload is installed in the payload change-out room at the pad and will be installed into the orbiter Sunday.

Shuttle Processing Note
Last night, workers installed Discovery's waste control system. Auxiliary power unit lubrication oil servicing continues. Installation of Discovery's window No. 1 is under way. At the Hypergol Maintenance Facility, the right-hand orbiter maneuvering system pod is undergoing a check valve replacement this week before being transported back to the OPF for orbiter installation. Preparation for the payload premate test is in work and payload bay lighting functional tests are scheduled.

Shuttle Processing Note

Endeavour's orbiter maneuvering system pod functional tests are complete. Orbiter reaction control system thruster inspections are in work. Installation of Endeavour's wireless video system is ongoing. Technicians are also inspecting the orbiter's windows this week. Fuel cell No. 2 is slated for removal next week.
