Orbiter post-flight
system inspections and deservicing conclude this week, while tile inspection and repair
will continue for about two weeks. Yesterday, technicians finished draining cryogenic
reactants from the orbiters power reactant storage and distribution system. Workers
today began setting up orbiter access platforms, and are scheduled to open the payload bay
doors this afternoon. Payload removal efforts begin Friday. Managers plan to remove
Atlantis three main engines late next week.

heat shield installation continues. Hydraulic checks on the left inboard elevon actuator are
scheduled for this week. In the Vehicle Assembly Building, booster stacking operations are
expected to resume later this week with the right-hand solid rocket booster segments.
