Shuttle Processing
Following yesterday's successful launch of Shuttle Discovery, launch pad inspections revealed no abnormal damage. The solid rocket booster recovery ships, Freedom Star and Liberty Star, were on station shortly after splashdown and preliminary reports indicate that both boosters are in good condition. 

The first recovery ship is expected to arrive at Hangar AF Friday with its booster in tow at about noon, and the second ship will follow at about 2 p.m. Standard booster inspections are scheduled to begin Monday at Hangar AF.

Shuttle Processing Note
Endeavour's payload bay doors were closed Oct. 2. Orbiter aft engine compartment closeouts are in work and pressure testing in the crew compartment is on going. Next Thursday, orbiter weight and center of gravity tests are scheduled prior to rolling Endeavour over to the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) on Oct. 23.

Shuttle Processing Note
Atlantis' main engines were successfully removed Sept. 28. Post-flight draining of hypergolic reactants concluded early last week. Today, workers are performing standard checks on the orbital maneuvering system. Preparations are in work for radiator functional tests scheduled to begin tonight.
