Shuttle Processing Note  (mission processing summary)

Space Shuttle Atlantis today completed the 7th Shuttle mission to the International Space Station with a landing at Edwards Air Force Base in California at 3:33 p.m. EST. After 13 days in space, the five-member crew had traveled a total of 5.3 million miles. Clouds and the threat of precipitation lead flight controllers to wave-off today’s final KSC landing opportunity.

The astronaut flight crew will remain overnight at EAFB and depart for their homes in Houston, Texas, tomorrow. The STS-98 landing marks the 47th landing at EAFB in Shuttle history. The last Shuttle landing at EAFB was on mission STS-92. Shuttle managers are assessing the work plan to turn Atlantis around for a ferry flight back to KSC.
