Shuttle Processing Note  (previous notes)

Mission managers waved off both landing opportunities early this morning due to rain showers within 30 miles of the Shuttle Landing Facility. Atlantis is now scheduled to land at KSC on the first of two opportunities Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning. Because the weather forecast for KSC is reported to be improving, mission managers have decided not to call up Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., for landing there. KSC landing opportunities are:

Orbit    Site     Deorbit Burn                    Landing
 200     KSC     (Tuesday) 10:35 p.m.         11:39 p.m. EDT
 201     KSC     (Wednesday) 12:12 a.m.     1:15 a.m.

The KSC Newsroom offers two electronic subscription services. To receive status reports on the processing of Space Shuttles and their payloads and expendable launch vehicles and their NASA payloads, send an e-mail message with the instructions "subscribe shuttle-status" to domo@news.ksc.nasa.gov. Send a separate message to the same e-mail address with the instructions "subscribe ksc-press-release" for KSC-issued press releases. The instructions should be in the body, not the subject line, of the messages and should not include quotation marks. The system will confirm each subscription via e-mail.
