Edwards Air Force Base (EAFB), Calif., preparation for Shuttle Endeavour’s
cross-country ferry flight proceeds on schedule.
Over the weekend, the orbiter’s tail
cone was installed. At about Noon. EDT today, workers will lift
Endeavour into the Mate-Demate Device at Dryden Flight Research Center.
The orbiter should be mated to NASA’s Shuttle Carrier Aircraft by 7
p.m. Eastern today. Departure from California is expected to occur at
first light Tuesday. Managers will convene the Ferry Readiness Review
today at 4 p.m. EDT to assess the flight plan and weather conditions.
