Shuttle Processing Note  (orbiter processing notes)

Over the weekend, workers completed tile drying and waterproofing efforts on orbiter Atlantis and today began final preparations to roll over to the Vehicle Assembly Building. Atlantis is expected to begin moving toward the VAB transfer aisle between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. today. Managers continue to assess an STS-104 launch date of no earlier than June 20.
 

Payload Processing Note

The U.S. Airlock is currently at the pad in the payload changeout room. Minimal work will be conducted through the time the orbiter arrives at the pad on June 3. The airlock will be installed into the orbiter's payload bay on June 6 and the payload bay doors will be closed for flight June 14. The date for the crew's Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test is set for June 7-8.

Technicians have completed routine checks of Discovery's water spray boilers and landing gear. Main engine thrust vector control testing is also complete. Aft compartment closeouts are in work today.
 

Payload Processing Note

Experiment and supply rack installations continue on the Leonardo Multi-Purpose Logistics Module (MPLM) in the Space Station Processing Facility.

Endeavour's three main engines were removed last Thursday. Technicians are conducting routine inspections of the orbiter's reaction control system thrusters this week. Orbiter maneuvering system pod checks are also under way.

Columbia will be transferred to Orbiter Processing Facility bay 3 once Atlantis moves out. There, workers will begin processing the orbiter for the STS-109 mission.
