Technicians have completed installation of Endeavour’s drag chute. Work on the orbiter’s auxiliary power unit (APU) tank struts continues, while technicians continue APU quick disconnect replacement efforts. Technicians are also installing an enhanced monoball wiring harness that will improve processing efficiency down stream.

Columbia was powered up over the weekend. Routine checks on the recently installed right hand orbiter maneuvering system (OMS) pod continue. Installation of the left hand OMS pod is scheduled to begin today and the forward reaction control system will be installed later this week.

Orbiter Atlantis and orbiter Discovery swapped locations yesterday. Workers will now resume Atlantis’ processing for the STS-110 mission.

Orbiter Discovery yesterday began a temporary storage period expected to last until late October.

Orbiter Discovery is scheduled to begin a thorough structural inspection and modification period. Shuttle managers continue to assess the content, schedule and location of this planned work period.
