Shuttle Processing Note  (previous notes)
Processing continues for Atlantis' launch to the International Space Station. Demonstration welds continue prior to starting the work on the cracks in the orbiter's Main Propulsion System (MPS) liquid hydrogen flow liners. Welding repairs are scheduled to take place beginning early Friday morning and continue through Saturday. Polishing of the microscopic rough edges of the holes on the downstream flow liners for all three engines is complete. Technicians will continue to polish the upstream holes using the same procedure. Following successful welding repairs, engine installation is scheduled late next week. Fuel cell single cell voltage test is complete.

Processing continues for Endeavour's launch to the International Space Station. After repairs are completed on Atlantis' flow liners, welders will begin similar repairs on Endeavour. Fuel cell water line servicing and replacement of window No. 6 is in work.

Nominal processing has been completed in preparation for Columbia's research mission now scheduled for no earlier than November 29. Due to the difference in material and number of slots on Columbia's flow liners, more engineering investigation is needed before a final repair option is selected.
