Processing Note (previous
notes) |
On the fourth day of landing attempts, Commander Jim Wetherbee guided Endeavour to a smooth landing on Runway 33 at Kennedy Space Center’s Shuttle Landing Facility marking the completion of a successful mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
After logging 5.74 million statue miles during 215 orbits, Endeavour’s main landing gear touched down at about 2:38 p.m. The crew members were on schedule to exit the Orbiter for the Crew Transfer Vehicle about one hour after landing. The STS-113 crewmembers and the three Expedition 5 crewmembers will return to Houston, Texas, on Monday.
Later today, Endeavour will be towed to a processing facility to begin deservicing and processing for its next mission, the STS-115 mission to the ISS, currently scheduled to launch in May 2003.
