Shuttle Processing Note  (previous notes)

Flight control managers at Johnson Space Center decided to wave off both landing attempts today due to low clouds, showers and possible thunderstorms in the Kennedy Space Center vicinity that would violate weather constraints at time of landing. The first of two landing opportunities available for tomorrow is 11:55 a.m. EDT with deorbit burn occurring at 10:47 a.m. The second landing opportunity for tomorrow would be 1:31 p.m. EDT. The weather forecast for Tuesday indicates a continued chance for thunderstorms within a 30 mile radius of KSC. Edwards Air Force Base in Calif., will be called up as a backup landing site for Tuesday with the first opportunity occurring at 3:00 p.m. EDT.
