Shuttle Processing Note  (previous notes)

Shuttle Atlantis remains on schedule for the launch of the STS-110 mission to the International Space Station on April 4. Over the weekend, work was completed on the newly installed Master Events Controller No. 1 and the right hand Solid Rocket Booster Auxiliary Power System hydraulic pump. The STS-110 payload was delivered to the pad on Saturday and will be installed onboard Atlantis later this week. Other work scheduled for the week includes installing the EVA space suits, updating the mass memory unit and ordnance installation..

As a result of the program decision to postpone the STS-111 mission to no earlier than May 31 to allow time for a wrist roll joint replacement to be installed in the cargo bay for the Space Station’s Canadarm2, Shuttle Endeavour will remain in the Orbiter Processing Facility (OPF) undergoing final launch readiness preparations. Work in progress includes integrity checks of the potable water system that was serviced late last week.

De-servicing of Shuttle Columbia continues in the OPF in preparation for the processing flow for the STS-107 Spacehab/Freestar mission in July. The offload of hypergolic residual propellants is complete and main engine removal is scheduled for later this week. X-ray inspections of the freon coolant loops are in progress.

Discovery is in the OPF awaiting the start of its Orbiter Major Modification (OMM) period that is scheduled to begin at the Kennedy Space Center late this summer.
