Shuttle Processing Note  (previous notes)

The crew of Space Shuttle Atlantis met up with the crew of the International Space Station when the orbiter and ISS docked yesterday in preparation of installation of the S1 Truss Segment.

 

The retrieval ships Liberty Star and Freedom Star have returned to Cape Canaveral with the spent solid rocket booster for engineering inspections.

Shuttle Processing Note  (previous notes)

Space Shuttle Endeavour is on the Mobile Launch Platform, mated to the External Tank and Solid Rocket Boosters.  Preparations are in work to transport Endeavour to the launch pad to begin the final phase of processing in anticipation of launch next month. Mission managers are keeping an eye on weather conditions as a result of Tropical Depression Kyle that is heading towards the east coast of Florida. The P-1 Truss Segment payload was delivered to the pad this morning.

Columbia continues processing in preparation for its research mission scheduled for no earlier than Jan. 16.  Polishing and welding is in work on the flow-liners.  Engine installation is scheduled to begin next Wednesday.
