| KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -– In
addition to daily countdown status briefings, a prelaunch press
conference was held on Tuesday, November 27, two days before launch.
During the press conference, high-level NASA and U.S. Air Force
personnel summarized the launch status. To hear their comments,

and answer period with media representatives which followed the

comments on the successes of the Space Shuttle missions flown
in 2001, the unique balance of Space Station assembly and science
planned for mission STS-108 and the challenges of next year's
missions.

Launch
Weather Officer John Weems reports that they are monitoring two
weather systems, a frontal system and Hurricane Olga, although neither
system presents a major problem. In the event of a delay, weather
conditions improve for launch attempts on Nov. 30 and Nov. 31.
